Air dry clay, wood, ink, fabric, wire.
                                                                                           5.5" x 4.5" x 3.5"

The sculpture above titled, Monopoly Man, is inspired by the capitalist society in which the white rich and powerful men sit at an unreachable platform and control each middle to low class American in extreme measures that go unnoticeable and under-discussed. The rich, powerful man is portrayed through detailed symbols that reference the monopoly man in the game, Monopoly. He is a sign of power, capitalism, he takes and takes until there there is little money to survive off of. The monopoly man devours the average American.  The average American in this piece is painted red, white, and blue, they are dangling by a thin wire over the monopoly man's mouth.

When is it my turn?
5.5" x 5" x 3"
wood, ink, air dry clay, plastic miniature dogs

The creation of the sculpture shown above, When is it my turn, was fueled by my exhaustion of being undervalued, undermined, and over sexualized by men in every environment that I step into.  Although this work was created to speak from personal experience as a woman in the capitalist patriarchy, this exhaustion is felt by millions of women across the United States. The men in this society are always the winner when it comes to just treatment and fair opportunity. When is it my turn works as a "what if", situation. The woman sitting confidently on the pedestal is me. I am looking downwards at the dogs, symbolizing men, who are covered in blood and defeated. The woman has won.
